Do you ever feel like you cannot forget something, even if you really want to?  Does it feel like your mind is listening to a CD that has a skip in it, and the thought keeps repeating itself?  Then, EMDR might be for you.  Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a form of treatment that was initially developed to be utilized by trauma survivors to work through their Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) symptoms.  I have found the EMDR can be used for a wide array of subjective traumas, as well as fears and phobias. I have utilized this technique to help people who have been abused, witnessed abuse, death/grief, etc.  I am EMDR level II trained.  Frequently, I tell my clients that EMDR can help them think through how they feel.  It aligns your thoughts and feelings (eg: I know I am not responsible, but I feel responsible).  Trauma is very subjective, people's reaction to trauma can present itself as depression, anxiety, insomnia, addictions or poor self esteem.  For more information on EMDR, please visit - EMDR.com.
